So, the other night, my friend, Dejan, and I went to go eat dinner in the city centre. On the way there, we ran into one of Dejan’s childhood friends. She invited us to come out and watch her sing at a cool little place in the Bohemian Quarter of Belgrade called Famalija Bistro.
It was a very cool experience, and one I would not have had if I didn’t know any locals. Olivera invited us to sit on stage while she and her friend sang and played guitar. It was all classic Yugoslavian rock tunes with the crowd singing along. I wanted to yell out “Play Freebird”, but I controlled myself. 🙂
If you ever come to Beograd (which you should), check this place out on Tuesday nights. Here is a short video clip from my YouTube page.
What do you think of the music?
